Nearly a yr ago I was bitten by the guitar “bug”. I so much needed to learn it… so here I was at “THE GUITAR HALL” strumming my heart out.
As I learnt, I saw so many around me enjoy the joy’s of this awesome instrument. I had to take the next step, I had to spread this joy of playing the guitar. That’s how I started learning n enjoyin myself at GH. Its such an enriching experience. To play the guitar is like jus letting ur self go, its like jus being in the moment of the music……
I feel so proud to be a part of GH..
THANK YOU so much KIRAN SIR, DHRUV SIR, OAIS SIR, BHUVAN SIR, SANTOSH SIR!!! n ofcourse RUCHI!!! :):):)
All d best to the whole GH crew!!! GOD BLESS!!! \m/

This place changed my life, for better and worse. Arguably, the best contemporary music schools in India, but for sure the best chain of professional music training classes in Mumbai. On last count Guitar Hall has 10 Centers which is a feat in itself. I have not seen anything like this before.
Like anything in life, your experience of Guitar Hall is dependent on what you put in to get out.

Most of my teachers at Guitar Hall are amazing, talented, caring people who taught me a lot about the Guitars and about music in general.

I am constantly amazed at the talent and the drive of so many of my fellow students. Just being at this academy where you have an automatic conversation starter of, “So which Module you are doing?” or “What kind of music are you into?” or “ Which piece you working on?” is like an instant bonding experience, the fact that everyone is there for the same reason, their shared love of music. I even fondly look back on the arguments I had with the hard core Rockers who thought Rock is the only kind of music ever worth of being recorded or played. Good times! And not to mention the huge posters of Rock bands put up all across Guitar Hall just making their case stronger. Guitar Hall founder Mr. Kiran Roy himself is an avid Rock lover I soon came to know so the giant sized Judas Priest,Iron Maiden,Pantera,Guns n Roses,Van Halen,Metallica and what not posters came across as no great surprise!

There are also quite a lot of dumbheads…not sure if this is due to the age factor(Guys from high school or barely in college who somehow manage to play 2 chords think they are nothing short of celebrities), dudes who apparently think they are already rockstars!

The greatest thing about Guitar Hall is the teachers, if you use them to your advantage. I made friends pretty early on with the teachers so I always had the opportunity to be there for their amazing jamming and stuff, also getting lots of free practice time and extra lessons during non peak hours. Also being with such talented teachers and just to sit back and listen to them play is such a cool thing. If you jump in with both feet and practice your instrument the way your teacher wants you to, you get back a whole lot of benefits as regards guitar playing.

The one thing I would complain about is the lack of performance opportunities. But I suppose it’s for students who are into higher Modules because I have seen students from higher Modules perform. There just aren’t enough opportunities for beginners. But then I guess you need to be good enough before you hit the stage.

Every day Guitar Hall is an absolutely amazing experience for me. In truth, I did suffer a bit of burn out after doing my grade 2, being asked to work more on my grades, but I learned timing through grades and I couldn’t be more thankful that I completed them on their insistence as that played a major part on my feel.timing, speed and overall ability on the guitars. I wouldn’t trade my time at Guitar Hall for anything else in the world.

I was fortunate enough to attend Guitar Hall 3 years back. I had already taken two years of local guitar classes prior to joining Guitar Hall and decided that I was not getting the
level of instruction that I required. I was able to take private lessons with a local instructor in my area which did not take me beyond a few chords and scales which most of the teachers in India teach. When I walked in to Guitar Hall was one of the proudest days of my life. Being from north India it was slightly difficult for me to relocate to Mumbai. At first the whole relocation-first time from home thing was hard to get used to but the fact that there were many other students from all over India made it much easier for all of us. We out-of-Mumbai students had even rented a flat nearby where we stayed together, played together and partied together. From the very start we were greeted by a staff of impeccable talent that soon had us working hard to achieve our goals. Many of us had stars in our eyes and dreams of being big rockstars or being discovered in the Indian Rock scene, which in retrospect was a bit naive but the magic of performing live did add to the experience in many ways. Since I had taken care of all of my basic guitar studies with my local teacher back home I was able to proceed onto higher Modules at Guitar Hall very soon. And with the help of Guitar teachers at Guitar Hall, I was able to take the vast amount of knowledge that I had been given and effectively translate it into my own repertoire. Although I did not become a huge star in the Indian Rock Circuit, I was able to go back home and be an active performer and educator which I am proud to still be to this day. I definitely recommend this experience at Guitar Hall Mumbai to all who wish to pursue the guitar as a way of life!

GH – I consider this my second home where I am in a completely different wonderful world of music.
I am really grateful to all the sirs at GH:
    Kiran Sir – for encouraging me to try various lead guitar solos of GnR, Deep Purple,Iron Maiden;
Dhruv – for so patiently teaching me all my fav Metallica songs (complete with bends, hammerons, pulloffs and fingerplucking), although I don’t think I can ever match his speed in Fade to black
Oais – for ensuring that I play the entire song from DC All fine to Fine complete with all the emotions of p,mp, mf, f, and also checking for signatures for each and every song in my Trinity grade book :-)
Bhuvan – for helping me out with the difficult songs in the Trinity grades and all the chords for various slow love songs
Santosh for encouraging me to be a perfectionist in the Trinity grade songs (and constantly questioning me on the theory , the notes and the chords).
Aman – (the Master of Puppets guy) and all the fun we have had playing Washing powder Nirma and Vicco Turmeric on the guitar
And ofcourse Ruchi who manages so many GH centres so efficiently and is always so cheerful with a lovely smile on her face :-)
Ever since I have joined GH, I have found that playing the guitar after a really stressful day of work is a really wonderful and enriching experience. I guess that all the Sirs by now can sense my love for GH and how every Sunday I leave GH with a heavy heart to continue with my routine life in the office for the entire week

Regardless if you are a professional musician, aficionado or wanna-be guitar hero – At the Guitar Hall Boutique you’ll find an extraordinarily knowledgeable staff who won’t let you leave with just any guitar – they will help you find YOUR guitar. The staff being professional guitarists themselves doesn’t hurt much!

The Guitar Hall Boutique is more than a place to buy guitars. It is a community with a camaraderie usually reserved for old school coffee shops, hookah lounges and pool parlors. The staff will treat you like family and don’t be surprised if you wander in on a friendly jam at any given moment. I had bought a Hobner guitar 2 years back from there and after that i look forward for my trips to the Guitar Hall Boutique to restring my guitar and for general servicing every 4-5 months. The staff obliges every time with a smile. This according to me sets Guitar Hall apart from the other music stores in Mumbai. All the musical instruments shops in Mumbai sells guitars, alright. But the after sales service which you get at Guitar Hall is something which makes it special. Recently when I came to the Boutique I learnt now they have 10 centers (When I bought my guitar they had just 1). Now you know what I am talking about! They deserve to be the numero uno.No other shop in Mumbai has 10 centers for heavens sake!

Sure, you can go to other stores where I’m sure the staff will gladly regurgitate the sales pitch they have been trained for and may even quickly spout off the names of what famous artists play versions of this Takamine or that Yamaha with a smile. But you don’t go to Big Bazaar electronics section when you are ready to purchase a real stereo, so why would you go to other musical instruments shops who sell a little bit of everything when all that you need is a real guitar and you have the specialists selling them.

Do yourself a favor. If you are ready for a real guitar, ready to hear how the instrument is supposed to sound when you strike the chords correctly… Go to The Guitar Hall Boutique. You and your girlfriend will thank yourself later, I promise. Though I don’t know any of the staff personally I take this opportunity to thank them all for their wonderful services and great behavior with me.

GH..in short can be described as a personality changer!
I still remember my last class in Jubail (Saudi Arabia), where, i used to struggle and plead to get songs!,but today, things are not at all the same!
I started of learning guitar in 2009, when i just came across the Guitar Hall website, by fluke. I had immeadiately called my dad, to check it out, n we were both just musmerised!
As soon as I came to India, i thought GH would be run by just 1 boring person, like my old teacher……….BUT….my frst session, wich I can never forget was THE turning point, and my mind changer!
Days went by, I met new teachers and people…started learning songs, grades, skills, exercises, solo’s etc.
My heart pained a lot after while I had my last session..:(:(
These memories were stored in my brain. I kept on practicing the same things, that i had learnt before. And then came the drastic change, I guess in January, I started playing songs while singing! My parents were amazed and all I said was,”GUITAR HALL!”
This soon became my passion(guitaring). I used to play guitar even in the two minutes i found! Kept on working on solo’s,chords and finally succeeded in making English as well as Hindi songs!
This year, the first thing I did when I reached India was i told my mom,”Get ready for tomorrow morning, I am eagerly waiting for returning to guitar hall!”
Today I can say, Guitar Hall has given me evrything I wanted! It has helped me found my talent!
I would convey my heartiest thnaks to my tutors- Krain Sir, Dhruv Sir, Bhuvan sir, Santosh Sir, Oais Sir(2009),Aman Sir!
Thank you all…ffor all your hardwork and patience!

My experience has been really great at Guitar Hall Academy. I am a more talented, confident and driven female guitarist. If there was any advice I could give. It would be to go out and do it now. Don’t wait too long. Go for your dream. Also be realistic. Don’t think about that you want to do this to be a rockstar, because there are a hundred others like you here. Its Mumbai and its not easy as the Rock scene in India is pathetic and about Bollywood the least said the better. Be prepared to work hard and harder for what you love to do and i recommend do it for yourself. Not for anyone else.Thats what i learnt from Kiran Sir.
I would have started at a lot younger age but when I wanted to join Guitar Hall I didn’t know any girls who wanted to learn guitars and my parents were clueless of my aspirations. I ended up going to a drawing class instead first before landing in Guitar Hall to pursue my aspirations as a guitarist and was I mistaken! I found out that there were more girls than guys learning guitars at Guitar Hall that too since years and there were some girls who played amazing guitars(one of them is Archana Laxminarayan who has written on the guestbook just 2 testimonials above mine, she just plays amazing!I am a secret admirer of yours Archana!:-) and that acted as the perfect anecdote I needed to practice harder. Go ahead by all means. You would benefit a lot if you put into practice the Guitar Hall method of guitar learning.A special thanx to all my teachers,Kiran Sir,Dhruv Sir,Oais Sir,Santosh Sir,Bhuvan sir and Aman Sir for working on me and converting a person who could not even hold the guitar properly into a decent guitar player who today does not think twice before performing anywhere.

Guitar Hall surely is the coolest music school around. After hearing about Guitar Hall’s reputation in Mumbai, I decided to inquire and found everything to be as good if not better than my expectations. One walk into their academy and you quickly realize it isn’t a normal institute. They have state of the art facilities, many teachers in the class and equipment that’s available to all of their students. I’ve never seen anything like it! They have more diversity in their students, teachers and facilities than there are styles of music! From head bangers to blues lovers to Hindi music freaks, they’ve got it all. To see Guitar Hall in action is an experience in itself and to see an amazing school that truly sets its goals to make one succeed above all the rest

Guitar Hall is what you make of it. If you want to study hard and enrich yourself musically, you can do that here. If you want to practice hard and take your instrumental/vocal ability to a new level, you can do that here. If you want to prepare yourself for an actual career in the music industry, you can do that here. If you just want to have a good time, play some music, and meet like-minded people, you can do that here too. I am currently attending sessions at Guitar Hall,Vashi.Timings are completely flexible. Students can walk in between 11 Am to 8 Pm every day.

The truth is: there are a lot of Guitar Hall students who have become successful in music and that’s the reason I enrolled for the courses at Guitar Hall in spite of there being 4-5 more institutes in Vashi teaching music. That said, this is probably the best place to study if you want to do anything serious with music. (And it’s pretty good for those not too serious too!) The teachers are real world professionals, and some are world-class musicians, but you have to make them sure that you are serious about your music. I’m constantly intimidated by the level of talent of my peers here at Guitar Hall, but I’m also constantly inspired by the wonderful music I hear everyday by the teachers. It’s a niche institute and I highly recommend anyone with a SERIOUS interest in music to look no further. You’ll quickly realize how much more you can get out of Guitar Hall than from any other music school in the country. Heartfelt thanks to Santosh Sir,Bhuvan Sir And Nevin Sir for your attention, hard work and patience.I am now going for the Module 2!

Guitar Hall is helping me fulfill a long cherished dream of being able to strum a guitar to produce soothing notes. The school has warm appeal….the instructors are always smiling, ever willing to help, counselling each individual on their personal abilities, patient with slow learners and the best part…they manage to infuse the passion they have lived with for the guitar in particular and music in general. It is considered a good trait of a school when the student looks forward to going back to class each day…..i am faced with this positive syndrome. I am here on a long journey…….and i can vouch for the fact that the two hours on every sunday act as the adrenalin rush to see me through a week of hectic corporate work. Wish the founders and teachears the very best.

Guitar Hall-The best academy for learning professional guitar…

I used to learn piano professionally for years now and my interest in music grew exponentially when I reached my teens…

And then I wanted to play guitar as well..
A close family relative of mine suggested me and informed me about guitar hall…

I was doubtful at the first but when I entered the guitar hall centre in chembur, I had decided- “Man! This is the place!!!”

Now I love playing guitar and spend hours with it..
Hours seem like minutes when guitar is my hand..
And all thanks to guitar hall..!!

The guitar hall staff is superb! The “BEST” staff..
    Guitar hall rocks..

    :) :D \m/ \m/

Guitar Hall….. I don’t know where to start off as I have been a student of Guitar Hall only since past 2 months, learning my first module.

I started learning guitar when I was just out of college i.e. in 1999 through a personal tutor. I had completed the primer then but soon I took up a job and then guitar was left way behind. But the passion to learn guitar was still alive.

So now after 11 years when I left my job the first thing I wanted to do was to learn guitar. On my search for Guitar classes Guitar Hall’s website was the first I came across and seemed quite promising. But was quite dissappointed that they did not have any centres in South Mumbai. I was more keen to learn in a class environment so I joined another class but left in 2 months as the course was not planned and was already being taught songs by the tutor. I want to have a strong foundation and not learn guitar as a hobby.

I started my search again for another class and I came across Guitar Hall again. And this time I finally decided to call them. I got a very good response from them. Dhruv gave me an option of personal tutions. Though I would have loved to learn in a class but I am happy with the personal tutions too. The course is well planned with exams and Trinity certification. My tutor, Chetan, has good knowledge of guitar and I am happy with his teaching.

Guitar Hall is the only acadamy (atleast in Mumbai) analogous a guitar school where one can graduate and master a Guitar.

I am happy to be part of it and I hope Guitar Hall helps me to fulfill my dream of mastering guitar.

P.S. – I would suggest you to open a centre in South Mumbai too..

  13. Dinesh P says:

A great place to learn guitar under the guidance of co-operative and helping staff. Moreover, flexible timings avoid any chances of missing the class. One even do not need to carry his/her guitar in class, as the staff provides the same. It was indeed a great experience to learn a guitar in ‘Guitar Hall academy’.
Thanks to all the staff for helping me in learning a guitar.
    All the Best!
