Kiran Roy Lead Guitars |
Kiran Roy was born and raised in Mumbai. While in junior high school (age 13), Kiran’s mother gave him his first guitar. Although it was an ordinary guitar, Kiran was able to learn to play.Kiran’s early musical influences were Judas Priest, Ozzy Osbourne, Van Halen, Black Sabbath, Megadeth, Pantera, Sepultura, Joe Satriani and Iron Maiden. He dedicated his teenage years to rebelliously practicing his guitars for sometimes 16 hours a day, even writing songs at his exam answer sheets as he never had much time left to prepare for his exams, while studying music theory, ear training, composition and improvisation. His schoolwork and soon college work suffered when he skipped classes and spent time with his guitar, all day long playing guitar. Once during his engineering days he had a concert just a day before his exams at a faraway location. He left home saying he is going to a friends place to study.Instead took a train to the venue, did the concert and directly reached his college right in time for his exams! School may have suffered, College may have suffered, got lashes from his parents, got suspended from colleges, was debarred from attending exams, but his guitar playing just got better! Kiran has a wellspring of ability on the fret board and his compositions exhibit depth, taste and original expression with a wealth of melodic content. In his playing and compositions, one can hear influences from such greats as Steve Vai,Eddie Van Halen, Joe Satriani, Yngwie Malmsteen, Eric Johnson, Randy Rhoads, John Petrucci, Andy Timmons, Nuno Bettencourt and Paul Gilbert. Kiran Roy is very particular about his equipment and uses Ibanez,B.C. Reich & Kramer guitars, Line 6 Processors, Peavey & Marshall Amplifiers, SIT Strings and Dimarzio straps, cables and hardware.

Dhruv Rathod Lead Guitars/Keyboards |
Dhruv Rathod was born in Mumbai but spent his early years constantly touring with his father, famous bollywood singer Vinod Rathod. It was probably during this time that he first inculcated music in his blood. He jokingly recalls singing live onstage on one of his father’s concerts as a child artist and making the crowd go completely bersek with his performance. Having rubbed shoulders with all top bollywood singers of that time, he started training in keyboards at a very young age of 6 and in the process completed Trinity College Grades in keyboards. He found his final calling in Guitars soon thereafter. While most teenage boys his age spent their time worried about horrid face acne and impressing girls via blinding their senses with ludicrous amounts of cheap cologne, a one “serious guitar player” had more important things on his mind:

Tristan Poirier Vocals/Keyboards |
A classical pianist, organist, keyboardist and a trained vocalist, Tristan Poirier was born in Paris, France. Specializing in piano and vocals, his music is noted for its sensory component and how it is not often formed around one key or pitch. At a very tender age he was surprised by the communicative effect of musical instruments, attracted by the fantastic power of this language, he chose the piano as his instrument to transmit his passion. Captivated by the musical language, he keeps on devoting his entire life to find technical means to make music more expressive. The piano allows the artist to express each peculiarity of his art, as if it was the continuity of his deepest conscience. It instantaneous echoes every gesture and every infinitesimal intention of the musician. Aware of the difficulty to deal with this new challenge, Tristan knew that the piano was the only one able to represent and translate “his voice”. Tristan specializes in western classical music from middle age to XIX century, rendered thesis about R. Wagner and also specializes in choral direction. He has completed Diplome de Fin d Etudes en piano (piano diploma) 2001 and composition and harmony diploma from State Music Academy, France. His renditions of Beethoven, Mozart and Bach are priceless and captivate audiences and musicians alike. His great interest and passion in composing remains stronger than ever .Besides that, his love for discovering new things, working with interesting people and discovering new aspects of the musical world, as well as new Musical Universes, has brought him closer to the Mumbai music audience through Guitar Hall and Lust Of Symphony.

Udit Kapoor Drums |
Udit Kapoor, born in Mumbai in 1991 had a sense of music from a very early start. It was at a very young age that his parents observed him playing xylophone and did not take long to realize that he had an ear for rhythm. He was passionate about music from a very small age and would sit for hours on the dining table, meal kept on the side, playing with his little fingers and recreating musical beats he heard on TV. That’s when his parents decided to train him in tabla. Although his family pedigree shows no signs of music he seemed to have music inculcated in his blood. He was highly encouraged by his mother to take his passion for percussions seriously. Apart from percussions, he also enjoys creating tunes on the keyboard and has a keen interest in playing the six strings. After 5 years of training in tabla, he decided to move on to the next level. He knew he wanted to learn more. At the age of 17, he started learning drums under the guidance of three of the finest drummers of India, Gino Banks, Vinayak Pol and Jai Row Kavi. He also became a part of his college band and started taking part in intercollegiate band performances. His deep interest in music like jazz and blues has been highly inspired by renowned artistes like Dave Weckl and Vinnie Colaiuta. Apart from music, Udit loves to play soccer. Like any other teenager of his age, this little chap enjoys everything except studies. He has a dream…..and the dream is to make it big in the live Rock circuit
Lust Of Symphony are a
Six-piece Progressive Rock/Metal outfit hailing
from Mumbai, India, but they're not just another band. They are
professional musicians from all corners of the world. Imagine a bunch
of virtuosos, with a huge passion for music. Lust Of Symphony was from
the start the brainchild of Kiran Roy;
lead guitars. The band's name is both a reference for their undying love for music,
and the speed and melody that is an integral part of their virtuosic music. All
members of the band are virtuosos in their craft and full time
professional musicians and teachers in their Academy Guitar Hall,
which apart from being India’s first and foremost professional guitar
training academy, is also the world’s largest chain of guitar training
academies.
Every year there are bands eagerly anticipated, be it from hot young names, established legends or – and this is usually the most exciting of all the categories – those bands you know are on the verge of greatness.
As Lust Of Symphony, the multi-national talent based in Mumbai, preparing to do concerts all over India and overseas, nobody who understands the world of metal can have any doubt that ‘Lust Of Symphony’ was most certainly being awaited with a real sense that we are about to witness a band going from being ‘potential national stars’ to becoming an ‘internationally acclaimed band’. “We’re not a band who gets stuck with a formula and are just content to repeat the same thing over and over again. We have influences from the whole world.” Says Lead Guitarist Dhruv Rathod.
One thing Lust Of Symphony have always been good at delivering are songs with a tremendous melodic depth. Whatever other qualities they have – and there are plenty – it’s this trait that long ago marked them out as a class apart from many of their peers. Name any giant of the genre over the past 40 years or so, and they’ve always possessed the ability to compose a cunning tune or several. The same applies here. “There have been people who believe all we do is play fast. But to me, the most important part of any song is the melody. We’re proud of what we’ve achieved so far, but also feel this time it’s on a new level. Merely being fast isn’t enough to get you noticed and respected.” Says Lead Guitarist Toshi Zungba.
Guitarist Kiran Roy first gained notoriety and stepped into the live circuit when he won the best lead guitarist awards for 3 consecutive years at various college festivals starting from 2001 with his Rock band R.O.T. He soon went on to take his Guitar Academy Guitar Hall to great heights. During the process he met some extraordinarily talented musicians like Dhruv Rathod; lead guitars, Aman Singh Gujral; bass, Toshi Zungba who is a native of Nagaland; lead guitars, Tristan Poirier who is a native of France; vocals/keyboards and Udit Kapoor; drums, who apart from teaching in Guitar Hall were also performing in various Rock bands all over.
Kiran Roy, current nationally-renowned guitar hero, begged to differ when his professional musician friends from the film industry sniggered and insisted that Rock music isn't something you can make a living out of in India. In spite of almost non-existent support in their early days, their perseverance and countless hours of practice have taken the band higher from the very first band rehearsals. Thanks to their uncompromising attitude, the band have made themselves known for their striking mix of mind-blowingly technical guitar work, yet still extremely aggressive and catchy metal rhythm section heavier than most metal bands in the scene. Today Lust Of Symphony are about to take their virtuosic music to a new level altogether.
Having a host of original guitar based instrumentals the band also has many compositions with their vocalist Tristan Poirier. The band influences are Van Halen, Dream Theater, Racer-X, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Megadeth, Pantera, Eric Johnson, Neil Zaza, Judas Priest, Andy Timmons, etc.
