Guitar Hall 4 Module Program in Bass educates students in the essential facets of bass playing: performance, technique, improvisation, and style. After in-depth study and practice in this program, you will be able to perform with confidence, in your own style, and play great rock, blues, and jazz-based bass lines.

The program begins with in depth lessons which focus on four keys areas of performance: time, tonality, timbre, and taste. Throughout the course you’ll study the techniques and unique playing styles of the masters of the instrument. You’ll also gain a great background in bass basics, including pentatonic, blues, major, and minor scales, diatonic harmony, ostinato bass lines, groove and time feel, and compositional techniques. By the end of this course, you’ll have the skills to perform accurately, in time, and in your own unique style.

Following this performance-based course, you’ll move onto studying Guitar Hall’s techniques to constructing and improvising bass lines in a variety of rock and blues music styles. The course begins with a primer on the 12-bar blues form and the major and minor pentatonic scales, and moves onto cover Rock, Blues Rock, Delta, Chicago, and Texas blues bass styles. You’ll study and learn how to affect and contribute to a song rhythmically, harmonically, and melodically through practice lessons covering phrasing, feel, and improvisation. You’ll possess the skills to incorporate rhythmic depth and improvisation techniques into your own rock and blues-based bass lines.

Bass Courses:
Delivered by our experienced teaching team, the bass guitar Courses offer a great range of skills and techniques for all levels, from the complete beginner to the advanced.

Module 1 (3 Months 24 Sessions – Fees: Rs.6,200/-)

You’re a beginner, but don’t want to stay that way. Module 1 gets you started, putting you on the right track with all the correct techniques:

• Basic instrument set-up (stringing, tuning and maintenance).
• Left/right hand technique (basic co-ordination, finger exercises, string crossing).
• Time and Feel.
• Harmony and Theory (intervals, basic scales and triads).
• Stylistic skills (repertoire, players and techniques).
• Music Reading (basic note values, rests and pitch).
• Aural (simple intervals / triads).

Module 2 (3 Months 24 Sessions – Fees: Rs.6,800/-)

You’re up and running and ready to further your skills. Module 2 gives you:

• Left/right hand technique (articulation, muting).
• Time and Feel.
• Harmony and Theory (inversions, 4 note chords, arpeggios and interval formulae).
• Fretboard Skills (triad inversions, arpeggios and scale shapes).
• Further stylistic skills.
• Music Reading (triplet and shuffle feels, accidentals).
• Aural (Compound intervals / chords).

Module 3 (3 Months 24 Sessions – Fees: Rs.6,800/-)

This course is aimed at the player who can play pentatonic scales, read simple transcriptions and play the occasional solo. But you know it’s not enough. Module 3 really gets you into your playing skills and raises your theory to a whole new level. Including:

• Left/right hand technique (stamina exercises and legato techniques).
• Time and Feel.
• Harmony and Theory (harmonised major scale, pentatonics).
• Fretboard Skills (pentatonics, scales and arpeggios).
• Music Reading (key signatures, chord charts and rehearsal charts).
• Aural (chord progressions / double stops).

Module 4 (3 Months 24 Sessions – Fees: Rs.7,400/-)

You’re comfortable on theory with decent techniques. Now you want your playing to really take off with more advanced playing techniques and repertoire. Module 4 is the one!

• Left/right hand technique (slapping and two handed tapping).
• Time and Feel.
• Harmony and Theory (chord / scale relationships as a basis for improvisation).
• Fretboard Skills (soloing using triads, arpeggios, scales. Intro to position playing).
• Stylistic skills (application of the above and soloing).
• Reading (odd time signatures and full chart reading).
• Aural (scales / complex chord progressions).
